I know the odd one out, but I don't want to spoil it before we've got some of the other ones nailed. In the meantime, Waiting Room are fronted by Alan Fletcher, of neighbours fame.
Karl Kennedy fact: Karl was named after Marx, by his communism loving dad.
Ugly Rumours are Tony Blair's old band. They allegedly used to cover the Eddie Cochran song "Summertime Blues" which contained the memorable line: "Gonna take my problems to the United Nations". If only he'd heeded the advice!
Thunderbox are Steven Seagal's (essentially 'support') band which tours with him when he tours his latest offerings.
Foregone Conclusion are David Brent's old band, which he left to pursue a career in paper supply. Therefore, Foregone Conclusion are the odd one out because they feature a fictional 'celebrity' (in so much as David Brent believed the documentary being filmed at Werner Hogg had made him famous by the time of the Christmas Specials) whereas the other eight bands feature REAL famous people.

I won't be greedy so as to let everyone have one each. 30 Seconds to Mars is the play thing of pretty man and Pluto Sympathiser Jared Leto.
30 Odd Foot Of Grunt must be the odd one out, unless people really think Russell Crowe is still famous.
Correctly identified both, but it's not the odd one out.
Dogstar is the brain child of one Keanu Reeves... as well as a bar in sunny Brixton.

Good work jpt and Huw, and excellent factage. We have five still up for grabs.
Thunderbox
The Ugly Rumours
Scarlet Division
Rust
Foregone Conclusion
Please note, I won't post again until this is finished.
Ok, in an effort to get you to post again soon, I did a quick google of Scarlet Division.
Dear god Will, you need to get out more... Please tell me that you didn't already know this band, and that you had to look them up?
The naked truth: Scarlet Division are Jamie Oliver's band.
Shocking.
I can't believe you don't remember Scarlet Division! They were on TFI Friday once, if I remember rightly.
Ugly Rumours are Tony Blair's old band. They allegedly used to cover the Eddie Cochran song "Summertime Blues" which contained the memorable line: "Gonna take my problems to the United Nations". If only he'd heeded the advice!
Darren - that is genuinely brilliant.
Now, only three left. One of these is the odd one out. I'm seriously itching to do a new post, so please, someone, dispatch these.
Thunderbox
Rust
Foregone Conclusion
(NB I think we've confirmed the fact that only five people read this blog, and one of them is me.)
Okay, to try and speed this up...
I have to concede, I don't know who is in Rust.
But....
Thunderbox are Steven Seagal's (essentially 'support') band which tours with him when he tours his latest offerings.

Huw, correct, you win! Foregone Conclusion are the only band featuring a fictional celebrity.
The final celebrity band, Rust, was of course the band I used to play in.
Google says Rust is a Finnish metal band....
Yeah, they stole our name.
That was a fun game. My missus reminded me that Ugly Rumours was Bliar's band; I'd put it out of my mind, thankfully.
